Truedek stacks up as a winning solution

The Truedek Steel Decking system is an excellent choice for large wide-span concrete slabs, but is also suitable for many smaller projects that are difficult with conventional formwork.

Formscaff Form Pty Ltd are a formwork and scaffolding company based in Matraville in Sydney who specialise in commercial, industrial and multi-level residential projects and contacted Premier Steel regarding a job for a four-storey bespoke project at Neutral Bay, which required a 250mm concrete slab for a car stacker.

The platform size was 6.4m wide x 8.6m long, a total of 55m2, so the most cost-effective design was for two rows of TD110 panels, 4.3 metre long in a full truss configuration, butted lengthwise on a centre support wall with one Infill panel each end to start and finish.

To speed up the installation, the panels were first pre-assembled in small platforms and by inserting reinforcing bars through the web holes, were craned into place.
